After winning the SilverEco & Ageing Well International Awards, representing Canada, on September 12th at the Palais des Festivals of Cannes, the town of New Glasgow commemorates their award with a ceremony, drawing the attention of the Canadian Minister of Seniors, Minister Kamal KHERA.

The Town of New Glasgow submitted The Mentoring Plus Strategy to the SilverEco & Ageing Well International Awards 2022 and won, representing Nova Scotia, Canada. The Canadian winner was awarded on stage on Monday, September 12th, at the notorious Palais des Festivals of Cannes during the SilverNight, the great gala awards ceremony.

Full of pride from winning the award with a project that draws on the expertise and skills of the senior population, the Town of New Glasgow hosted a reception at Glasgow Square on Monday 24th of October, 2022, in order to present the Silver Economy and Ageing Well event and to celebrate their victory very well deserved.

We are extremely proud, and our experience was nothing but positive ! The town is humbled to have been on the international stage accepting an award for Ageing Well with eleven other countries, all working towards the same goal, which is how to meet the needs of an ageing population. […] The significance of the Award, for the Town of New Glasgow, is to celebrate all the accomplishments, and receiving recognition internationally speaks to the importance of looking through all the work done through an age-friendly lens. We hope to come back next year, with a higher visibility and why not take part in a round table as there are many things yet to be shared and said.
