The SilverEco® and Ageing Well International Awards took place on the 29th of March 2018, in conjunction with the French event Silver Night at the biggest cinema theatre of Europe, the Grand REX, in Paris. Among 50 nominees, Essence Smartcare is one of the 3 winners. Interview with Yossi Graff, Business Development Director at Essence Smartcare.

Can you tell us about the Care@Home Smart Alerting solution?

The Care@Home Smart Alerting solution is a combination of technologies that ensures the safety of seniors through various intelligent emergency detection and alerting methods. Intelligent Voice Activation™ recognizes vocal calls for assistance, raising an alert to senior-care providers and allowing them to respond quickly to an emergency. The EPA patented Fall Detector is a combination of a fall detector, panic button and wellness measurement system that seamlessly connects to a mobile phone over Bluetooth Low Energy to continue to provide the same level of protection even outside of the home.
The Smart Alerting technologies are part of the multiple award-winning Care@Home suite of solutions that provide advanced monitoring to the senior care.

How did you feel about winning an award?

This award is yet another reflection of Essence’s holistic approach to creating solutions that transform lives. We are proud that through our unique market perspective and technical expertise, we’re solving real-life seniors’ needs and have been recognized for this effort.

The Silver Night is an important event for the industry. This Night brings together all the leading players in the market and thus urges the industry improve its technologies every year.

We have been contacted by many Service Providers, Telekom companies and Insurance companies from France that are very keen to understand our patented value proposition and the unique services that they can offer to their customers by using our Care@Home platform.

Which advices could you give to the future Nominees?

In Essence we always believe that the technology should work for the senior and not the senior should work for the technology. Through all our development and design processes we take under consideration that the focus here is the elderly person in the center. We provide technologies for seniors, hence, the technologies should run seamlessly for the senior and be completely passive and easy to operate.
