At the start of April 2025, two young men, Augustin and Côme, are embarking on a humanitarian journey with their project Go & Smile. Aboard their trusty Fiat Panda, they will travel through Turkey and Armenia for four months with a clear mission: to support the most vulnerable communities.
Go & Smile: A mission of solidarity at the heart of communities
Driven by a genuine desire to help those most in need, Augustin and Côme will actively participate in reconstruction projects to provide shelter to people who have lost everything. But their project goes beyond that. They will also reach out to isolated elderly individuals, engage in conversation, listen to their stories, and offer them a moment of comfort and connection.
Côme, a mechanical engineering graduate, is known for his legendary resourcefulness. Always ready to find a solution in the event of a breakdown or a challenge on the construction sites, he represents the essential technical side of this adventure. As for Augustin, a passionate adventurer who thrives on human connection, his travel experiences in Madagascar and Dakar have equipped him with the ability to forge authentic relationships and easily break the ice.
Sharing the experience upon their return
Beyond the direct help provided on the ground, Augustin and Côme aim to document their journey and collect moving testimonies from the people they meet. These testimonies will be shared in a public screening upon their return, with the goal of raising awareness about the harsh living conditions in Turkey and Armenia.
Moreover, their journey will culminate in a tour across France, where they will visit elderly people to share these stories and offer a moment of exchange and reflection on the realities of isolation.
A project supported by the association 1 Lettre 1 Sourire
The Go & Smile initiative aligns with the ongoing efforts of the association 1 Lettre 1 Sourire, founded by ten cousins from Lille to combat the isolation of the elderly. Over the past three years, more than one million heartfelt letters have been sent, bringing smiles and comfort to thousands of people.
With Go & Smile, Augustin and Côme are continuing this momentum of solidarity, reminding us that every smile, every encounter, and every act of kindness matters.
