Ageing Well Study Tour: A unique immersive journey into the heart of french longevity
Preliminary program
Starting at 8:00 AM, VIP participants of this international delegation will be picked up in front of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. The goal? To offer a comprehensive overview of the Silver Economy ecosystem in the southeast of France—a pioneering region in innovation for ageing well.
At 9:00 AM, the first stop will take them to the University Hospital of Nice (CHU de Nice), where researchers and professionals will present ongoing research programs focused on ageing well, blending medical science, technology, and humanistic approaches.
From field solutions to technological innovations
The program will continue at 10:30 AM with a visit to a care facility for dependent elderly individuals, enabling direct interaction with staff regarding resident needs and innovative solutions implemented to enhance quality of life.
At 12:15 PM, the delegation will head to Sophia Antipolis, Europe’s first science park, for a business lunch gathering 20 local companies specializing in the Silver Economy. This moment will also highlight public support mechanisms available to companies looking to set up or collaborate in the region.
Companies, research, regions: The french synergy model
The afternoon will proceed at 2:00 PM with a pitching session featuring both international and local companies, followed by networking time. The objective is to foster business connections and stimulate cross-border collaborations in a rapidly growing sector. Return to Nice Airport is scheduled for 5:00 PM, marking the end of this immersive day.
France: A pioneer in the longevity economy
Since 2013, France has been the first country to establish a national policy dedicated to the Silver Economy, thus transforming demographic ageing into an economic opportunity. Through adapted products, services, and business models, France now stands as a global benchmark.
The SilverEco Ageing Well Festival, the world’s largest gathering focused on this topic, will bring together in Cannes the key players of the silver economy sector. This SilverEco Study Tour is therefore a privileged gateway to discovering France’s best practices, forging international partnerships, and drawing inspiration from local initiatives that can be replicated worldwide.
