They can be time-consuming, invasive, expensive, and influenced by factors such as educational level or patient anxiety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To address these challenges, <strong>British researchers have developed a radically different approach<\/strong>, relying on <strong>a direct and passive measurement of brain activity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fastball EEG: a quick and passive approach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The research was conducted by teams at the <strong>University of Bath and the University of Bristol <\/strong>and published in the scientific journal <em>Brain Communications.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Fastball EEG test involves placing <strong>a cap fitted with electrodes<\/strong> on the participant\u2019s head to <strong>record electrical brain activity<\/strong> while they view a rapid stream of images. <strong>No complex instructions are given:<\/strong> participants are not asked to memorize anything or answer questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brain <strong>automatically reacts to certain images<\/strong> it has seen a few minutes earlier.
