These two 72 year old women have known each other since they were 11 years old and grew up in Notre-Dame d&#8217;Aubry-du-Hainaut. In love since they were 25 years old, they lived their love in secret because their time was yet not ready to accept it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fpermalink.php%3Fstory_fbid%3Dpfbid02XnXewnEYSAx1WPiPrW1VzJzAEYY74onWGDNhSQT4sfHMgCsgC14s4FDDW9EzPVFvl%26id%3D100044435199504&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"799\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-story-of-liliane-and-andree-a-secret-love-story\">The story of Liliane and Andr\u00e9e : a secret love story<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2017, Liliane and Andr\u00e9e entered the Val d&#8217;Escaut nursing home and asked to be put in the same room. The staff did not know they were in love, it was during a trip to the beach that their story was revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>During that day, during the meal, we were talking about gay weddings and Liliane and Andr\u00e9e came to ask us if it was possible to do that in real life. They thought that same-sex marriages were only possible on television. We told them it was possible and a few minutes later, Andr\u00e9e proposed to Liliane in front of us.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<cite>Alexandra SIMON, their referring nurse<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>A dream came true for these two women who were able to get married thanks to the efforts of the Val de l&#8217;Escaut nursing home.
