The 11th European e-Accessibility Forum will take place on Monday, June 19th, 2017 in Paris.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It seeks to explore the role digital technologies can play in ensuring our cultural landscape is inclusive. How can digital access empower disabled audiences and enable them to become full participants in cultural life?<\/em><\/p>\n

Focus on the 11th European e-Accessibility Forum<\/h2>\n

Culture brings people together around shared interests and plays a pivotal role in promoting social cohesion<\/strong>. It strengthens identities and encourages participation, recognition and legitimacy at both an individual and collective level.<\/p>\n

Cultural institutions have a fundamental role to play in fostering inclusive and cohesive societies.<\/p>\n

The Forum will explore such themes as:<\/p>\n

  • How cultural institutions are using technology to embrace disabled audiences and improve access to their collections, information and activities<\/li>\n
  • How technology can facilitate creativite expression for people with disabilities<\/li>\n
  • How educators, arts organisations, public service providers and software and hardware developers can work together to build accessible solutions<\/li>\n
  • How progress can be leveraged through public and private initiatives<\/li>\n
  • How dialogue can be instigated between e-Accessibility stakeholders and the cultural industry to ensure that cultural assets and activities are born accessible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
