The law was created by\u00a0 President George H.W. Bush to promote equal opportunities for disabled individuals for access to businesses, employment, transportation, state and local government programs and services, and telecommunications.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/ada.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-26878 size-full alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/ada.png\" alt=\"the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)\" width=\"266\" height=\"228\" \/><\/a>There has been amazing technological change since the ADA was signed thanks the rise of the Internet and new technology advances: connected objects, and the democratisation of the smartphones use for instance. Disabled people can now work, live and interact with much more ease than they used to. For example, applications and specific products can be integrated into some workplaces; they are mostly dedicated to blind, deaf and mute people. This is a huge advance for disabled people and their integration into the labour market.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and CEA Foundation Celebrate the 25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Anniversary of the ADA<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/ADA-25th-anniverssary.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-26880 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/ADA-25th-anniverssary.png\" alt=\"ADA 25th anniversary\" width=\"740\" height=\"410\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/ADA-25th-anniverssary.png 740w, https:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/ADA-25th-anniverssary-300x166.png 300w, https:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/ADA-25th-anniverssary-600x332.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe consumer electronics industry joins in celebrating the anniversary of the ADA, which helped bring equal access to all of our nation\u2019s citizens, irrespective of accessibility needs\u201d<\/em> said Gary Shapiro, CEA\u2019s president and CEO and he added: <em>\u201cCEA members are proud to provide the products, services and apps that allow the more than 56 million Americans with disabilities to live more independently and enjoy the many benefits of technology. Through the CEA Foundation, we are working to further increase access to this technology for Americans with disabilities.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) created the CEA Foundation with the mission to link seniors and people with disabilities with technology to enhance their lives.\u00a0 Since launching in 2012, the Foundation has supported numerous non-profits that are making a direct impact on people\u2019s lives across the United States.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>About CEA Foundation:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe CEA Foundation is a public, national foundation affiliated with the Consumer Electronics Association. It was established with the mission to connect seniors and people with disabilities with technologies\u00a0 in order to improve their daily lives.
