{"id":25968,"date":"2015-05-15T09:31:41","date_gmt":"2015-05-15T08:31:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/?p=25968"},"modified":"2026-01-22T13:50:24","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T12:50:24","slug":"study-silver-economy-markets-abroad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/study-silver-economy-markets-abroad\/","title":{"rendered":"Study: \u00ab Silver Economy Markets \u00bb abroad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>French <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tresor.economie.gouv.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\">General Directorate of Treasury<\/a> published a study regarding the different market sectors of Silver Economy, on behalf of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entreprises.gouv.fr\/\">General Directorate of Companies<\/a> (DGE). <\/strong>The study was realized with the participation of the Counselors of French Embassies for social affairs in the 8 different countries analyzed in the report. The main purpose of the study is to outline the panorama of the Silver Economy markets at international level.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>To do so, 8 countries were reviewed in detail: <strong>Germany, Brazil, China, South Korea, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom <\/strong>and<strong> Turkey.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Silver Economy Industry Contract was signed in France in December 2013. Its 3<sup>rd<\/sup> section the expertise is dedicated to <em>\u201cexporting the products and technology of the Silver Economy abroad\u201d.<\/em> This study comes as an answer to this section, by proposing an analysis of local international markets, in order to ease the positioning of the French companies offering.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/analyse-les-march\u00e9s-de-la-Silver-\u00e9conomie.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-25970\" src=\"http:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/analyse-les-march\u00e9s-de-la-Silver-\u00e9conomie.png\" alt=\"analyse-les-march\u00e9s-de-la-Silver-\u00e9conomie\" width=\"664\" height=\"439\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/analyse-les-march\u00e9s-de-la-Silver-\u00e9conomie.png 896w, https:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/analyse-les-march\u00e9s-de-la-Silver-\u00e9conomie-300x198.png 300w, https:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/analyse-les-march\u00e9s-de-la-Silver-\u00e9conomie-600x396.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 664px) 100vw, 664px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Evaluating the needs and devices within specific country parameters<\/h2>\n<p>The study was conducted with a questionaire for each country, in order to <em>\u201cevaluate their needs, according to their own demographic specificities and measures taken to meet elderly people needs; to identify the technological solutions and services already available; and finally to spot national actors that can help companies enter the local market (communities, insurance companies)\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3><em><strong>The Silver Economy international questionnaire<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><em>Q1 \u2013 Which are the main characteristics of the elderly people market ? <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><em>Q2 \u2013 Has the country developed a national public policy for older people needs?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><em>Q3 \u2013 Has the country implemented home care services for dependent elderly people? what&#8217;s the nature of the involved organisations: national\/local, public\/private? <a href=\"http:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Direction-G\u00e9n\u00e9rale-Tr\u00e9sor-150x300.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-25969 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Direction-G\u00e9n\u00e9rale-Tr\u00e9sor-150x300.png\" alt=\"Direction-G\u00e9n\u00e9rale-Tr\u00e9sor-150x300\" width=\"150\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><em>Q4 \u2013 Are there any solvency of public or collective needs regarding assistance matters for the elderly people? At which level are the decisions taken: city\u2019s social service, regional social service or local insurance offices?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><em>Q 5 \u2013 Are local collectivities launching new offers concerning services to individuals or adapting elderly\u2019s houses?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><em>Q 6 \u2013 Has the country developed a technological offer regarding home assistance: teleassistance, a panel services? Which percentage of old people really attend this type of services?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><em>Q 7 \u2013 Has the country a particular type of specialised residence to accomodate the elderly? What is the proportion of elderly people who live in these types of accommodations?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><em>Q 8 \u2013 How are the actors of this market segment organised: industry contract, federations or none? How are the leaders on the Silver Economy market? Point out mainly the business actors in teleassistance and domotics.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><em>Q 9 \u2013 Are there any norms, standards or patterns to follow? Which would be the monetary or non-monetary barriers that could slow down the penetration of French products and services on the local market?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p><em>Q 10 \u2013 Are there any exhibitions or Forums dedicated to Silver economy<\/em>?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The study&#8217;s conclusion outlines the interest and the acknowledgement of the challenges implied by the Silver Economy on a worldwide scale. However, there are geographical disparities concerning the application and the proposals of national action plans. This study proves the interest of French actors of the Silver Economy to export their skills and know-how across national boundaries.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil still has difficulties foreseeing their own demographic transition, China on the other hand is taking the lead with their new public politics regarding elderly home care.
