Yet, it is no longer the case in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last few years, the suicide rate among the elderly has indeed fallen sharply.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Suicide: an optimistic tendency among the British elderly population<\/h2>\n<p>Over the last century, elderly people have been continuously affected by several external factors, which could lead them to taking the ultimate leap and their own lives, thus becoming the most exposed group to committing suicide.
