It relies on a series of visuals showing the everyday reality of LGBTQ seniors on one side, and the hypothetical situation they could have if they had the community\u2019s support.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Respect-your-elders-LGBTQ-The-519-2-430x665.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-24873\" src=\"http:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Respect-your-elders-LGBTQ-The-519-2-430x665.jpg\" alt=\"Respect-your-elders-LGBTQ-The-519-2-430x665\" width=\"311\" height=\"481\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Respect-your-elders-LGBTQ-The-519-2-430x665.jpg 430w, https:\/\/www.silvereco.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Respect-your-elders-LGBTQ-The-519-2-430x665-194x300.jpg 194w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 311px) 100vw, 311px\" \/><\/a>The campaign also aims to change behaviours in retirement homes in order to adapt to specific needs for LGBTQ seniors.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, LGBTQ seniors have often faced prejudice because of their sexual orientation during their entire life. They face particular challenges as they grow old:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They get less health care than they should;<\/li>\n<li>They choose not to reveal their sexual orientation or gender identity to healthcare professionals in fear of prejudice;<\/li>\n<li>They face more health risks, especially in terms of depression, suicide, drug addiction and heavy smoking.<\/li>\n<li>They feel more
