The Silver Economy is dedicated to the elderly in our societies. As its name suggests, the Silver Economy is not a \u201cmarket\u201d but a cross \u201ceconomy\u201d.
\nThe population ageing process\u00a0<\/a>is real and impacts every market and industry, such as: home accommodation, transport, food industry, insurance, robotics, health and e-health, , communications, Internet, sports and leisure\u2026
\nAll these markets are already adapting to ageing process.<\/p>\n

Whether we are talking of the greying economy, the ageing economy or the Silver Economy, alluding to the greying hair of the elderly, governments and industry players imagine new policies and products in order to respond to the ageing population needs.<\/p>\n

In France, the Silver Economy was recently structured with the creation of the State Contact signed in 2013 by the French Government, while the worldwide phenomenon of population ageing is a true opportunity for growth and employment.<\/p>\n

Gerontechnology (a mix of \u201cGerontology\u201d and \u201cTechnology\u201d)\u00a0includes various technical systems and solutions to help the elderly and\/or their caregivers perform\u00a0basic\u00a0daily activities.<\/p>\n

Gerontechnologies enable elders\u00a0to maintain their autonomy\u00a0or to compensate for functional impairments.<\/p>\n
