The Conference “Innovative Financing Opportunities for Active & Healthy Ageing” is organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Health & Food Safety, in collaboration with the Directorate-General of REGIO, GROW, CONNECT and the GET project. It will take place on the 3rd of June 2015, in Brussels. The Conference aims to gather financial services actors participating to promote workable solutions for financing of active and healthy ageing.
For a healthy, active and independent ageing
The meeting will take place in Brussels, and will be part of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing. The European program objectives will indeed be reflected during this conference: enabling EU citizens to have a healthy, active and independent ageing, improving the sustainability and effectiveness of social heath care systems and promoting innovative products and services, in response to the ageing challenge. The conference is opened to all professionals from the financial service sector: private investors, healthcare providers, national authorities and the third sector. Several strategic points will be approached, such as a focus on the European Union financial instruments, the Investment plan for Europe, joint-procurement of innovative solutions, new ways of public/private co-investments in health, European Structural and Investment Funds, social innovation and most recent innovative alternative financing tools.
Schedule
The Conference program will consist of two morning plenary sessions and three afternoon parallel sessions. The opening session will be introduced by Martin Seychell who is the Deputy Director General for Health at DG SANTE. The three afternoon sessions will run simultaneously, and will emphasize on the following topics: “Synergies in Structural Funds – Mobilising Opportunities for Active & Healthy Ageing”, “What’s the alternative? – Complementarities in access to finance”, and “Ready to invest in large scale Active & Healthy Ageing deployments? – Feedback from Investors”.
ZOOM – Call for Expressions of Interest
As part of the session “Ready to invest in large scale Active & Healthy Ageing deployments? – Feedback from Investors”, a Call for Expressions of Interest in Pitching Large Project Ideas is currently open. Expressions can be submitted online using the form below, by all entities willing to implement a project in active and healthy ageing. The entity that submits the Expression of Interest will be considered as the “Promoter” of the idea in the context of this session. The goal is to create awareness of opportunities in attracting investment in active and healthy ageing, and to explore the investor’s attitude towards this topic.
