Yvonne Witter studied sociology (University of Amsterdam), social gerontology (Free University of Amsterdam) and completed (European Masters of Social Gerontology).
She worked at the national senior citizens organisation KBO-PCOB as a policy officer. She has been advisor at the Aedes-Actiz knowledge centre on housing and care (www.kcwz.nl) since 2005. She puts the primary focus on topics such as civil initiatives, cohousing, loneliness, well-being, dementia, trends and innovations in housing, care and welfare.
Yvonne is author of blogs and articles related to her area of expertise and published several books (including children’s literature). She’s an active member of ENIEC, the European Network Interculturalison of the elderly care (www.eniec.eu) and a board member of the foundation ‘art age’. Regularly, she gives lectures about housing, care and well-being.
She is participating as a jury member in a personal capacity.
