Dutch national programme manager of the international Active & Assisted Living (AAL)
Jury member – WORLD
Geja Langerveld works at ZonMw as the Dutch national programme manager of the international Active & Assisted Living (AAL) Programme. The AAL programme aims at developing ICT-based solutions for older adults (and their networks) and bringing them to market. Products and services which enable older adults to age well and to live independent as long as possible. In AAL end users – older adults and (in)formal carers -, companies and R&D partners co-create solutions which are attractive to senior consumers and/or relevant for the (public) market of wellbeing and care/support.
In 2017 ZonMw published a brochure about ‘The impact of AAL in the Netherlands’ and it actively stimulates the uptake of AAL innovations on the national level.
On the international level Geja is active in several steering groups of AAL Support Actions to improve the end-user engagement and market aspects in AAL projects and to develop new funding instruments. Furthermore she participated several times in the assessment of projects/ideas as member of a jury or a selection committee (Smart Homes Award, AAL Challenge Prize, Comptetion of Finnish Academy) and in an Advisory Board of an EC project.
